Find a ship. Recruit some crew. Raid, pillage, plunder, and otherwise pilfer your weasley black guts out. Get a bigger ship. Kill some things. Upgrade your ship. Sneak into a fort. Raid a port. Acquire treasure. Bury said treasure. Seduce the governor's daughter. Become infamous. Search for someone else’s treasure. Flee in terror from unfathomable creatures from the deep. Drink all of the rum. Die on the high seas. Roll a new character and do it all again. What is PIRATE BORG? PIRATE BORG is a complete game based on and compatible with the award winning doom art-punk RPG Mörk Borg using their incredible 3rd party license. But it’s also a tool kit. Most of the tables can be hacked and used with any tabletop RPG, and you can add-on the 5e Bestiary Zine* to get 5e stats for all the monsters and NPCs in the book. Pirate Borg is d20 based. Players roll 3d6 for each core stat, and you use the resulting modifier to try and beat a Difficulty Rating (DR). Most rolls are player facing, meaning players roll to attack and roll to dodge enemies; the gamemaster doesn’t need to roll any dice in melee combat (but will in naval combat).5e Monster & NPC Stat Zine Add-onOur awesome trailer music is by Boy King of Idaho. Thar Be Zombies, 50 Fathoms, Pirates of the Spanish Main, Oak & Iron, and 5 Torches Deep. About the CreatorLast year I started drawing pirate ship maps in Photoshop for VTT programs like Roll20 and Foundry. Now it's my full time career. I have a Patreon where you can download over 10GB of maps and modules. You can follow me on Twitter and Instagram, or join my Discord server to nerd out with other pirate loving gamers: Limithron's Pirate Ship.About the Project & BookWhile this isn’t a game about recreating B/X memories from the 80s, it does tip the hat to that old-school style of play. Similar to the tenets that Ben Milton observed in many OSR games (in Principia Apocrypha), PIRATE BORG is: Highly Lethal. Novice pirates can start with 1 hp, and fumbling certain rolls can kill you… Open World. Get a ship. Go anywhere. Lacking prewritten plot. The sea: the canvas. Your ship: the paint brush. Your paint? The blood of your enemies (or grog). Emphasis on creative problem solving. With 5 abilities and no skills, the answer to the problem isn’t written on your character sheet. Exploration is encouraged. Look for mysterious islands. Explore the jungle for ancient temples. Dive and explore shipwrecks. The world is your oyster... but the oyster might eat you. Encounters aren’t balanced. A Man of War has over 40 guns. Your sloop has 4. Fight or flee? Depends on which way the wind is blowing... Soooo many random tables. Over 70, infact. Get some dice. Hack it until it's your own. I've got stretch goals for optional classes that let you play as a ghost, a shark-mutant sorcerer, or a lucky parrot. Pirates Gone Wild. Pirate Borg Review by Questing BeastPrintingI want to make the best book possible. Thick, rough, uncoated pages. 100+ page A5 hardcover book. Bookmark ribbon strech goal. I'm using Standart Impressa, one of the printers used by Free League Press. This will take some time to make and ship overseas, but I promise it will be worth it!What’s in the Book Fast, Rich Character creation. Roll or pick from over 10 tables to create unique, story driven pirates and freebooters. 6 Core classes, each with 6 starting abilities and multiple leveling up options. Pirate Gear & Equipment including melee weapons, black powder guns, explosives, and clothing. 20 Ancient Relics imbued with magical powers and 20 Arcane Rituals you can attempt to perform. These can be powered by science, Vodou, prayers, or ancient magic... whatever fits your table. Random Pirate Generator. Populate ships and create memorable crews by rolling some dice. Beware of: Willem “Black Knife” Walker, a rum-drunk goon with a pet bird wielding a broken bottle (d4). HP: 4 Morale: 9 Armor: -d2. He’s got 62 silver hidden in his boot. Over 30 unique monsters. Three headed monkeys, tropical birds & beasts, undead pirates, and of course… the Kraken. Plus 4 archetype pirate bosses, their ships, and their crews.Rules light naval combat that give every PC something to do each round. Each includes art and digital battlemaps. Random Island Generator written by Jacob Hurst, creator of The Dark of Hot Springs Island. VERY EXCITED ABOUT THIS. IT'S VERY COOL! Sea Shanties. Similar to spells but for ships and sailing. Maritime Travel Events to spice up travel. Nothing ruins a sailor’s day like calm winds, thick fog, or rafts covered with zombies. Mermaids and sirens on the other hand… “SAILS!” Random Ship Generator. The Grave Witch, a 2-masted brigantine, raises the Black and opens fire on ye! The Curse of Skeleton Point, an introductory adventure with an island map, 6 rich NPCs, 6 unique locations, story hooks, and more. The governor’s daughter is missing, and there’s a haunted castle on the other side of the island. The hag in the swap is to blame. Or is she? Random Generators: Jobs & Quests, Derelict Ships, Brothels & Tavern, Treasure Maps, and more.
