D&D 5.5e - Ravenloft the Horrors Within [Releases June 16th 2026]

On the DM side, The Horrors Within expands the Domains of Dread with new Darklords, new monsters and new advice for running horror-based D&D campaigns across multiple sub-genres, covering everything from gothic horror and dark fantasy to the occult and cosmic horror. The book also includes a number of new NPCs, including the return of legendary monster hunter Rudolph van Richten.Player-facing options include eight new horror-themed subclasses, which are based on materials presented in the May 2025 Unearthed Arcana playtest. Of these, the Reanimator Artificer and Hollow Warden Ranger are brand-new subclasses, while the College of Spirits Bard, Grave Domain Cleric, Phantom Rogue, Shadow Sorcerer, Hexblade Warlock and Undead Patron Warlock are updated versions of subclasses the originally appeared in 2021 in Van Richten’s Guide to Ravenloft. The Horrors Within also includes new species and backgrounds, new Dark Gift feats and expanded rules for using Fear and Dread.
