Hello to all Trainers!
We wanted to give you a couple of updates on how we are going to be handling Pokemon pre-orders & restocks for the foreseeable future. We are making some changes to how we handle Pokemon to make sure the maximum number of players in our community have access.
You all know there have been significant shortages on Pokemon product since Surging Sparks was released last winter. The Pokemon Co has simply not been able to keep up with interest in the game. Just like always, shortages bring flippers, and flippers make the shortages worse. Our goal is to be able to get as much product as possible into the hands of players.
Pre-Orders for new sets:
Every product will have 2 prices going forward - Open & Sealed.
- Open product will be exactly what it sounds like. We will open the product in front of you and cut the corners off of every pack. The cards will not be damaged, and you will still have the thrill of cracking packs when you get home. Open product will be priced as close to MSRP as we can.
- Sealed product will also be exactly what is sounds like. The product will be taken out of sealed cases shipped to us directly. You will know there has been no-chance any of the product is re-sealed in any way. Sealed product prices will be TCGPlayer price - 15%. We will determine the price 24-48 hours before the set drops.
When you place your pre-order, you will be asked if you want the product Open or Sealed, and we will ask you again when you pick it up to verify.
Restocking Pokemon products
Getting restocks on any Pokemon products has been difficult for every store in 2025. RRG has good resources, and often has the ability to get product that other stores do not. However this often comes with a cost.
- Distributor A just charged us the same amount for our restock as we paid for the initial release. We like them.
- Distributor B marked the product up based on its TCG Market price. We aren't happy about this, but it is often their price or nothing.
- Distributor C made is so in order to get their "Pokemon bundle" we had to buy a bunch of non Pokemon product from their website. This obviously increases our price to acquire.
All of this to is meant to let you know what things look like from our side, and what we mean when we say "Our pricing is based on our cost to acquire."
As a shop that deals with collectible card games like Pokemon, those prices are mostly based on TCGPlayer.com prices or eBay sold prices. But there are time where big price swings happen, and we cannot always be exactly at those prices because our price to aquire product is far to high.
